Talese A rich, sad, novel set in a bleak near future where science is unable to save humanity from itself. A great Atwood work.- Todd Penny Lane (her father- a big Beatles fan!) is forced to move away from the city she loves to her mom's small hometown on the coast. Now she must endure the taunting and be the butt of jokes from the popular crowd. Not easy to do as the new kid in 9th grade. This wonderfully told, heartwarming tale of fitting in, finding friendship, and trying to figure out a new unplanned course is a must-read for moms and girls alike. - Sam This is an intriguing, if somewhat disturbing book. It's very well written and keeps your attention, but also makes you think, especially about how we attach memories to things. The book is basically about a young girl who is dead and she's trying to find herself in the "After" and understand what happened to her.
